Fatherhood: A Crafty Mother’s Day in 10 Photos

Posted on March 15, 2015January 7, 2018 by Henry Elliss

When the clever people at Tesco asked if they could send the boys and myself a little box of Mother’s Day surprises, I (as ever) jumped at the offer – what better day to celebrate the woman of the household than with some home-made goodies and a bit of pampering.

Rather than waffle-on about how much fun it was, or how much Sara enjoyed it, I thought I’d post some of the photos which we took during the day (or weekend). We made glittery cards, served breakfast in bed, made a delicious zesty lemon drizzle cake and an afternoon tea.

A big thank you to the Tesco people for the supplies (including the most ridiculously large lemons we’ve ever seen!) and I hope you all had a great Mother’s Day too, whether as the pamperer or the pamperee!

First order of business was card-making – naturally, it included plenty of PVA glue…

24 hours later and I’ve still not managed to clear up all the glitter!
The idea may have been mine, but the glittering was all the work of the boys!

Don't ask me why they chose to put a rabbit and some dinosaurs on there. Kids, eh?

As today is ‘Back British Farming’ day, I want As today is ‘Back British Farming’ day, I wanted to give a shout-out to all the farmers in the local area, especially Brimpton’s own @mbowden1954. One of my favourite aspects of living where we do now is being surrounded by countryside and farm land - and being able to see an actively-farmed field at the end of our garden. Every time something’s being done to the field I’m out with my camera, usually trying to figure out the names of all the machinery - and it’s so nice to see a product being grown right from seed to harvest. I know it’s not easy for farmers at the moment, and I dearly hope ours are able to keep farming for many years to come - so if you have one near you, make sure to show them all the support you can!
