The best camping gadgets for your next trip with the family

Posted on March 30, 2021August 19, 2022 by Henry Elliss

Whether you’re an experienced family of campers or you and your family are new to it, there are several camping gadgets and accessories to choose from in 2021. Today, campers worldwide are turning to an array of inventions to help elevate their camping experience.

Of course, we are exposed to the odd gimmicky product from time to time, but on the whole, the gadgets that are continually put in front of us do perform a worthwhile task. There are navigation tools, clever apps for our phones, portable lights, portable barbecues and a whole lot more. In fact, the options for the camper of today are comprehensive, although, for some, the traditional methods will always suffice.

If you and your family are keen to introduce some modern gadgets to your next outdoor adventure, then maybe some of the below products will be of interest. There are certainly several solid options to choose from these days!

Portable Mosquito Repeller

Mosquitos can be a real nuisance. To help keep them at bay, try this portable mosquito repeller from Thermacell. It’s miniature in size, but it performs a massive task by emitting a DEET-free, scent-free insect repellent which the mosquitos hate. Better still, the device also covers a 15-foot zone for 12 up to hours.

PowerCore 26800

Portable chargers are extremely popular these days, especially as today’s population become even more reliant on their smartphones. If you’re keen to keep tabs on your work emails or you need your mobile for playing the most popular penny roulette sites in the UK while on your camping trip, then the PowerCore 26800 is a great option. It works perfectly, and it comes with two USB ports, therefore, enabling you to charge more than two devices at a time.

Luminoodle

A lack of light can be an issue when camping, particularly at night. A reliable light source, the Luminoodle is capable of having your back if poor lighting is a concern while camping. Working like a lantern, this string of lights packs neatly away into its nylon bag and is capable of lighting up a tent or an outdoor area. All you do is carry it around with you, and the light will follow.

Mr.Heater

Keep warm in the winter with the help of a Mr. Heater. This tiny heater packs one hell of a punch, producing up to 9,000 BTU heat with a range of 225 feet. It has an auto-shutoff feature also, as well as having the capability to run for 3 hours at its full and most powerful heat setting. Powered by propane, it is also safe for indoor use and can be transported easily due to its compact size.

VSSL First Aid Kit

A first aid kit is generally a first aid kit. In the case of the VSSL First Aid Kit, though, it’s most definitely operating at another level. It comes with the usual things you need and some additional bonuses such as a 200-lumen four-mode flashlight, a compass, and an impact-resistant and waterproof shell to store all of the items in. For camping, it’s perfect.

Nemo Helio Portable Pressure Shower

Showers at campsites can be unreliable, which is why some campers bring their own. A fantastic option, the Nemo Helio Portable Pressure Shower is a popular choice for many at the moment. It’s easy to use, the water can be heated with exposure to sunlight, and it’s easy to use thanks to its foot pump which comes with a handheld spout.

Some lovely sunrises, lots of ice on the canal and a couple of rivers and lakes that were quickly merging together, at the expense of the newly-laid track. At least my wellies stayed strong!

One good thing to come from this week’s rail strikes (and the subsequent week WFH) was my daily sunrise walks - something I really miss when I have to go into London. Fingers crossed that 2023 allows for a few more of them.
