Fatherhood²: It’s Political Correctness Gone MAD!

Posted on December 13, 2011March 3, 2018 by Henry Elliss

I was originally planning to post a video with this piece, but modern life appears to have put a dampner on those plans – something I had previously thought was just a joke fuelled by Daily Mail readers turned out to be true: You really can’t put pictures of other people’s children on the internet…

Posted on October 10, 2011 by Henry Elliss

It’s good but it’s not right… There are some things in life that are wrong, even when they’re right. Things that you know should happen, are appropriate and even to be expected, but you still don’t need to welcome them. Its birthday season in the Wall household. My eldest was 9 last week and the…

Posted on March 16, 2011March 18, 2011 by Henry Elliss

A few weeks ago I posted a list of my 10 favourite pre-school story books, based on the ones that Robert likes to read on a regular basis. At the end I asked for some feedback on what classics I might have missed – and I got a LOT of comments with books I’d missed….

Fatherhood²: Baby purchases I can get behind

Posted on March 9, 2011March 10, 2011 by Henry Elliss

A couple of weeks ago necessary I did a post about baby gadgets which might not be necessary (in my opinion). To even things up, I thought I should do a quick follow-up focusing on the positives – some of the baby gadgets (or STUFF) which I’d definitely recommend getting. Obviously no gadgets or accessories…

Fatherhood²: Guest Post – NCT? Of course not.

Posted on February 6, 2011February 20, 2011 by Henry Elliss

We are five weeks from Due Date and we are not doing NCT classes. Yes, that’s right, we are not doing NCT classes (cue: look of horror flashing across all parents’ faces). We signed up twice. And unsigned ourselves twice. Why? A few reasons. We’ve not heard glowing reviews about the content of an NCT…

As today is ‘Back British Farming’ day, I want As today is ‘Back British Farming’ day, I wanted to give a shout-out to all the farmers in the local area, especially Brimpton’s own @mbowden1954. One of my favourite aspects of living where we do now is being surrounded by countryside and farm land - and being able to see an actively-farmed field at the end of our garden. Every time something’s being done to the field I’m out with my camera, usually trying to figure out the names of all the machinery - and it’s so nice to see a product being grown right from seed to harvest. I know it’s not easy for farmers at the moment, and I dearly hope ours are able to keep farming for many years to come - so if you have one near you, make sure to show them all the support you can!
