Some lovely people from Panasonic (they make lots of cooking stuff, like bread makers and combi ovens!) got in touch with me recently, asking if I’d like to give away a copy of cookery wizard Jo Pratt’s new cookbook – so I said yes, of course, because I’m nice like that.
After all, who doesn’t like giving away free stuff? Not me, that’s for sure (I’m getting lost in double-negatives here, bear with me)…
Here’s the low-down on the book:
Jo Pratt, TV chef and author of Madhouse Cookbook, is helping families create some quick, delicious and nutritious meals on The Ideas Kitchen website with Panasonic. We know how tough it can be to create a meal from scratch that the kids will enjoy, so throughout September Jo’s here to help with some easy to follow video recipes. She’s also got a brilliant cookbook with lots of family friendly meal ideas so you can focus on spending time with the ones you love.
To be in with a chance of winning the signed copy of Jo’s new book, just pop over to The Ideas Kitchen website and have a look at her video recipes. Or watch some of them below – see, don’t I make it easy for you?!
Here’s the question – once you know the answer, just leave your entry (answer + your name) in the comments box below. I’ll pick one lucky winner at random on September 13th and get in touch to let them know they’ve won!
Question: In her Tomato, asparagus and parma ham tarts, what setting does Jo put her combination oven onto to cook them?
Easy peasy – here’s a couple of videos that might help. Don’t say I never help you out! ;)
Good luck!

What is convection, Alex? We are supposed to answer in the form of a question right?
I’ll take “Convection” for the win, please.
I think super really hot but I will answer convection.
Mmmm,…..convection?
And that tomato and sweet paprika soup looks amazing. Gonna have to try.
Hope all is well in your time zone, brother.

I always like trying out new recipes. The answer is convection.
Well, I think the right answer should be ‘convection’. It’s simply the best way for making tarts in this type of oven. And it looks like I’m not alone in thinking this. Lovely tarts, by the way. I’m going to try them out, soon.
Convection with conviction!
