Fatherhood²: Some Charming Ideas for Mother’s Day

Posted on March 11, 2014January 7, 2018 by Henry Elliss

DSCF5541When a lovely lady from jewellery company ‘Lily Charmed’ contacted me recently, she asked whether I’d like to review some of their charms. She clearly recognised what an expert jewellery appraiser I am – probably combined with my eye for style and ‘bling’. Well, either that or she figured I was probably going to be a bit useless at Mother’s Day gifts and might appreciate a helping hand.

She was certainly right on one of those two assumptions…

The lady who contacted me offered to send me a couple of pieces which my boys might like to give my wife for Mother’s Day. Since neither boy currently gets pocket money and any pennies they find go into their ‘Octonauts Savings’ pot, I jumped at the opportunity.

I picked some pieces I thought Sara would like (I chose the jigsaw charm as Freddie is currently OBSESSED with doing jigsaw puzzles!) and a few days later, they arrived, ready for me to review.

As I’ve mentioned in some of my previous reviews, I’m not exactly an expert at this – I’m fine when it comes to reviewing books, toys or gadgets – but when it comes to inanimate objects, I don’t really know where to start.

Thankfully, even a moron like me can see that these pieces are pretty damn nice. They’re shiny, pretty, well-made and they come in a beautiful presentation box.

If you’re feeling more inspired than me, you can even personalise a gift to your own preference – have a look at their website and see for yourself — Lily Charmed. All gifts can be personalised with a message, too.

Rather than blather on further about how pretty they are – it’s probably easier and quicker if I just show you what they look like. Apologies for my rubbish photography skills – I probably should have arranged them a little more professionally, but hey – I never claim to be an expert (at anything!).

A massive thank you to the lovely people at LilyCharmed for letting me review them. I have yet to present them to their intended recipient (I’m saving them for Mother’s Day!) so I’ll let you know what she thinks of them when I do!

As an added bonus, if you use the code FATHERHOOD2 at the checkout, you’ll get 10% off your order!

One good thing to come from this week’s rail strikes (and the subsequent week WFH) was my daily sunrise walks - something I really miss when I have to go into London. Fingers crossed that 2023 allows for a few more of them.
