Fatherhood: 6 Super-Cute Baby/Toddler Halloween Costumes

Posted on October 22, 2015January 7, 2018 by Henry Elliss

With the spooky season now bearing down upon us like the ghost in a haunted house ride, thoughts invariably turn to costumes. Whether you’re throwing a Halloween party, taking the kids out trick-or-treating or just want to celebrate the season, it’s a great excuse to get the little ones dressed up in super-cute outfits.

If you’re running low on inspiration, or you want to try something a little different this year, I’ve done the leg work and found some really cute (and very affordable) costumes you could try out….

Baby Scuba Diver

If you little one isn’t yet free of the dreaded dummy/pacifier, why not incorporate that into the costume by dressing baby up as a SCUBA diver? This example seems pretty damn cute to me:

Baby Carl from ‘Up’

Is your little one not quite steady on their feet yet? Don’t worry, this genius costume incorporates a miniature frame to help them walk – while also perfectly finishing the look of a miniature ‘Carl from Up’. More photos here.

Baby Breaking Bad

Whilst these might not be the simplest ones to recreate, I couldn’t resist including these miniature Breaking Bad babies in the list – you could even make your own fake Blue-Meth with a bit of Cracking Candy and a desire to lose all the respect of your friends…!

Baby Pumpkin

Probably the oldest but still one of the best – who can resist a small child dressed up as a pumpkin on halloween?! You can either make your own version or buy a ready-made one at pretty much every good clothing store at this time of the year. This particular example came from here.

Charlie Brown and Snoopy

With the new Charlie Brown movie heading our way shortly, this one would surely be a winner at halloween – and can’t be that difficult to recreate. It’s especially suitable for the less hirsute babies amongst us…!

Baby Skeleton

If you’re not feeling creative enough to make your own costumer, why not try some of the great ones you can buy on the highstreet? This little number from Mamas and Papas Clothing will make baby look like a creepy (or cute) Skeleton, and will cost you less than a tenner. Who can argue with that kind of bargain?!

One of my favourite aspects of living where we do now is being surrounded by countryside and farm land - and being able to see an actively-farmed field at the end of our garden. Every time something’s being done to the field I’m out with my camera, usually trying to figure out the names of all the machinery - and it’s so nice to see a product being grown right from seed to harvest. I know it’s not easy for farmers at the moment, and I dearly hope ours are able to keep farming for many years to come - so if you have one near you, make sure to show them all the support you can!
