Guest Post – Keeping Yourself Entertained Online While Home Alone

Posted on October 25, 2015May 3, 2022 by Henry Elliss

Most of us love to socialise with friends and family when we have some free time, but there are times when you may find yourself stuck at home on your own with little to do and nobody around for company. While this may sound like a sad situation the good news is that you’re not alone – you have the whole world at your fingertips in the form of the Worldwide Web.

When you have a solo day at home, there is plenty you can do online to keep yourself amused for hours, giving you the chance to chill out, enjoy some peace and quiet, and participate in some fun activities without even having to leave your home.

Some great activities to enjoy online

So you’ve got the house to yourself and you have internet access and a computer or internet enabled device to use…it’s time to have some fun and enjoy the host of activities that can be found online!

No matter what they say, there probably isn’t anyone who can keep a straight face when watching the many funny cat videos that appear on You Tube and other online portals. These are a great way to cheer yourself up if you’re feeling down and definitely an excellent way to pass the time if you’re sat at home alone bored. There are plenty of them online, so sit back and watch what our naughty feline friends get up to in their spare time.

beautiful-15704_640Many people love to play games online and if this sounds like you then head to a site such as kasyna online. You can try your luck at one of the range of games and you never know – you could end the day far wealthier than you started! This provides a great way to have some fun, enjoy exciting entertainment and even stand a chance of winning some cash.

Another fun and creative activity is to create a card for a friend or relative. If you have a special event such as a birthday or anniversary coming up, get online and create a special card using specialist sites such as Funky Pigeon. You can have great fun creating these cards, as you can choose your own captions, greetings and photos to make them really personal – and if you want to, really humorous.

Being home alone is the perfect time to not only de-clutter the house but make some extra money in the run up to Christmas. Take some time to go on sites such as Gumtree, where you can sell items you no longer want to other people in the local area.

These are all great ways to ensure that although you’re home alone you certainly won’t notice it – and the time will fly by.

As today is ‘Back British Farming’ day, I want As today is ‘Back British Farming’ day, I wanted to give a shout-out to all the farmers in the local area, especially Brimpton’s own @mbowden1954. One of my favourite aspects of living where we do now is being surrounded by countryside and farm land - and being able to see an actively-farmed field at the end of our garden. Every time something’s being done to the field I’m out with my camera, usually trying to figure out the names of all the machinery - and it’s so nice to see a product being grown right from seed to harvest. I know it’s not easy for farmers at the moment, and I dearly hope ours are able to keep farming for many years to come - so if you have one near you, make sure to show them all the support you can!
