My Year in Photos – Septmber 9th – "A place for reflection", originally uploaded by henweb. Having spotted one and how pretty it looked, I spent almost my entire walk back to the car this evening trying to take pictures of puddles. Annoyingly, they never got better than the very first one, which I neglected…

My Year in Photos – September 8th – "The Winter approacheth", originally uploaded by henweb. I know most people are probably depressed about the end of summer, but I personally quite like this crappy weather. Not only because I’ve just got back from a lovely hot holiday – it’s always nicer when you don’t come…

My Year in Photos – September 7th – “Holiday mess”, originally uploaded by henweb. I spent most of today either in the car on the way to, or coming home from, Birmingham. So that didn’t really make a very interesting photo! So I instead turned my attention to some of the detritus left over from…

My Year in Photos – September 8th – “Help us to help you”, originally uploaded by henweb. I spotted this confusing sight on my walk back to my car this evening – actually one of many amusing sights I saw, so I’ve got a choice for a change! The thing that confused me was whether…

My Year in Photos – August 27th – "Roof boxing", originally uploaded by henweb. Well, my predicted roof box stress actually turned out to be fairly stress-free – the Thule we bought wasn’t cheap, but it was certainly nice and easy to fit! If you think it looks wonky, PLEASE don’t tell me – I…

My Year in Photos – August 26th – “Is it Christmas already?!”

Posted on August 26, 2010November 26, 2010 by flickr

My Year in Photos – August 26th – "Is it Christmas already?!", originally uploaded by henweb. Following my realisation yesterday that it was only (!) four months until Christmas, today I spotted what may well be the oldest Christmas tree in the UK – or perhaps an early Christmas tree for somebody very miserly? It’s…

My Year in Photos – August 25th – “Making the most of the rain”

My Year in Photos – August 25th – "Making the most of the rain", originally uploaded by henweb. Because it was a bit of a wet-play day today, Robert and I decided to make the most of it by heading in to the rain to splash in some puddles. Both of us got dressed up…

My Year in Photos – August 24th – "What a feeling – we’re camping on the ceiling", originally uploaded by henweb. A visit to Tesco for our pre-holiday supplies shopping today – and I was greeted as I walked in to the shop with this sight! As usual Tesco have stocked up ready for the…

Posted on August 23, 2010August 25, 2010 by flickr

My Year in Photos – August 22nd – "Keeping the kids entertained", originally uploaded by henweb. This is my brother-in-law Neil, doodling on the children’s activity sheet that they gave us at the pub, to keep the kids happy. It seems to be keeping him suitably amused!

As today is ‘Back British Farming’ day, I want As today is ‘Back British Farming’ day, I wanted to give a shout-out to all the farmers in the local area, especially Brimpton’s own @mbowden1954. One of my favourite aspects of living where we do now is being surrounded by countryside and farm land - and being able to see an actively-farmed field at the end of our garden. Every time something’s being done to the field I’m out with my camera, usually trying to figure out the names of all the machinery - and it’s so nice to see a product being grown right from seed to harvest. I know it’s not easy for farmers at the moment, and I dearly hope ours are able to keep farming for many years to come - so if you have one near you, make sure to show them all the support you can!
