My Year in Photos – October 19th – “Going underground”

Posted on October 19, 2010February 18, 2014 by flickr

My Year in Photos – October 19th – "Going underground", originally uploaded by henweb. Today was one of those (thankfully rare) days when I have to ditch my car and take the train in to work instead. Usually down to a meeting or something that will go-late in the middle of London, I shouldn’t really…

In light of the fact that most of my friends are talking about how good the ‘Social Network’ movie is, I thought it was about time I revisited this AWESOME fake trailer for the Twitter movie, inspire by the Social Network trailer…

My Year in Photos – October 18th – “Like a fish out of water”

Posted on October 18, 2010February 18, 2014 by flickr

My Year in Photos – October 18th – "Like a fish out of water", originally uploaded by henweb. After a turbulent day, I was rather confused to find this little goldfish sat on my seat when I got home this evening. Turns out it’s a little water-squirter which my lovely mother sent to Robert today,…

My Year in Photos – October 17th – “Hunting for Gruffalo”

Posted on October 17, 2010February 18, 2014 by Henry Elliss

My Year in Photos – October 18th – "Hunting for Gruffalo", originally uploaded by henweb. Today we made what is fast becoming our annual Autumn visit to the Harcourt Arboretum, near Oxford. The Arboretum is part of the Oxford University Gardens, apparently – despite the fact that it’s nowhere near the Uni. But either way,…

Funny Video of the Day – “Ladies of the World” by Flight of the Conchords

Posted on October 17, 2010 by Henry Elliss

The first of what may well turn in to several Flight of the Conchords videos in this section. What can I say? I’m a sucker for New Zealand gangster-folk… NOTE: There’s actually an ‘official’ music-video-style version of this song, put out by the show’s creators, but I can’t seem to embed it. It’s here though.

My Year in Photos – October 16th – “Hole in the wall”

Posted on October 16, 2010February 18, 2014 by flickr

My Year in Photos – October 16th – "Hole in the wall", originally uploaded by henweb. This weekend’s big DIY job is the demolishing of a wall which has been covering over an under-stairs cavity. I say wall – it was actually an old door with some plaster-board pinned on top… badly. The previous owners…

My Year in Photos – October 15th – “We buy this one, Daddy?”

Posted on October 16, 2010February 18, 2014 by flickr

My Year in Photos – October 15th – "We buy this one, Daddy?", originally uploaded by henweb. During the week, Robert and I are usually the first people downstairs in our house, while Sara dries her hair. For the past few days, the first thing Robert has done when he’s got downstairs is open up…

Funny Video of the Day – Strange kid singing Cascada

Posted on October 16, 2010 by Henry Elliss

I know it’s mean to laugh at children, but this kid is properly impressive when he lip-syncs. He also bears a spooky resemblance to a young Cory Haim, particularly as ‘Mouth’ in the Goonies. Either way, he’s a mini-legend.

Funny Video of the Day – Darth Vader Feeling Blue

Posted on October 15, 2010 by Henry Elliss

Another classic which I stumbled back across the other day. If you ever thought that you were the only person who thought that Darth Vader’s mouthpiece resembled a mouth organ… you are not alone!

My Year in Photos – October 14th – “Could be a 2 bottle night!”

Posted on October 14, 2010February 18, 2014 by flickr

My Year in Photos – October 14th – "Could be a 2 bottle night!", originally uploaded by henweb. I’m a bit grumpy today, for no obvious reason – lots of little things I think. It’s definitely a wine night though, and at this rate it might even be a two-bottler…! :D

As today is ‘Back British Farming’ day, I want As today is ‘Back British Farming’ day, I wanted to give a shout-out to all the farmers in the local area, especially Brimpton’s own @mbowden1954. One of my favourite aspects of living where we do now is being surrounded by countryside and farm land - and being able to see an actively-farmed field at the end of our garden. Every time something’s being done to the field I’m out with my camera, usually trying to figure out the names of all the machinery - and it’s so nice to see a product being grown right from seed to harvest. I know it’s not easy for farmers at the moment, and I dearly hope ours are able to keep farming for many years to come - so if you have one near you, make sure to show them all the support you can!
