Fatherhood²: Cbeebies Birthday Time WIN!

Posted on June 14, 2011March 3, 2018 by Henry Elliss

In case you missed it earlier (though I can’t imagine HOW you missed it – isn’t EVERYONE watching Cbeebies at 7am?!), here’s some screenshots of Robert’s card that I made him on the Cbeebies “Birthday Time” segment this morning – thanks for showing it so well, Sid! You can watch it on iPlayer if you…

My Year in Photos – February 13th – "Down on the farm", originally uploaded by henweb. For those of you who don’t have restless toddlers to entertain, the opening dates of local fams, parks, zoos and attractions probably don’t bother you too much. For us though, today being the first day that most of the…

My Year in Photos – February 4th – "I Googled my son…", originally uploaded by henweb. Good news – my order from the Google Store FINALLY arrived today, just 4 months after I ordered it! To be fair to Google, when I finally figured out the right way to contact support (there were several methods…

My Year in Photos – January 31st – “HOW MUCH?!”

Posted on January 31, 2010November 26, 2010 by Henry Elliss

My Year in Photos – January 31st – "HOW MUCH?!", originally uploaded by henweb. Being a fairly quiet day (an increasingly rare occurrence in our house these days), we opted to go out for a nice pub lunch at the Crown at Playhatch – a very nice pub if you’re ever in the area. The…

My Year in Photos – January 29th – “Building up to bedtime”

Posted on January 29, 2010November 26, 2010 by Henry Elliss

My Year in Photos – January 29th, originally uploaded by henweb. At the end of what has been a pretty fecking tiring week, I was pleased to come home and find that Robert was feeling much better, so much so that when I walked in he was treating his mum as a trampoline. For those…

My Year in Photos – January 21st – “Superbaby!”

My Year in Photos – January 21st, originally uploaded by henweb. Apologies for the slight blurriness of this image. There was a MUCH better one, but I mistakenly deleted it while trying to Bluetooth it off my phone. Don’t even start me on the evil bloody uneraser programs, which tell you they’re free, show you…

My Year in Photos – January 17th – “Paint me a picture”

Posted on January 17, 2010November 26, 2010 by Henry Elliss

My Year in Photos – January 17th, originally uploaded by henweb. Well, as my wife just pointed out to me, I’m afraid I’ve failed a bit on my original promise – namely that my ‘Year in Photos’ project wouldn’t just be pictures of my son. My excuse here is that my weekends are understandably filled…

My Year in Photos – January 10th – “Sitting in the doorway”

Posted on January 10, 2010November 26, 2010 by Henry Elliss

My Year in Photos – January 10th, originally uploaded by henweb. We decided to head over to Henley today, seeing as how the snow is on the move and the roads seem a bit clearer. Amazingly, very little was actually open in Henley today, so we ended up looking in a few shops and wandering…

My Year in Photos – January 9th – “Toys, toys, toys”

Posted on January 10, 2010November 26, 2010 by Henry Elliss

My Year in Photos – January 9th, originally uploaded by henweb. Rather than post yet *another* shot of the snow today (and believe me, I’ve taken LOADS!) I thought I’d choose a shot which represented our day much better. Namely, our trip to Toys R Us! Due to the aforementioned snow, it’s quite hard to…

My Year in Photos – January 6th – “Twelfth Night”

Posted on January 6, 2010November 26, 2010 by Henry Elliss

My Year in Photos – January 6th, originally uploaded by henweb. As predicted by the red sky yesterday morning, last night saw snow covering much of the country, with Reading being especially well doused. Despite having to stay at work late, I managed to make my way down the M4 reasonably easily and by the…

As today is ‘Back British Farming’ day, I want As today is ‘Back British Farming’ day, I wanted to give a shout-out to all the farmers in the local area, especially Brimpton’s own @mbowden1954. One of my favourite aspects of living where we do now is being surrounded by countryside and farm land - and being able to see an actively-farmed field at the end of our garden. Every time something’s being done to the field I’m out with my camera, usually trying to figure out the names of all the machinery - and it’s so nice to see a product being grown right from seed to harvest. I know it’s not easy for farmers at the moment, and I dearly hope ours are able to keep farming for many years to come - so if you have one near you, make sure to show them all the support you can!
