Fatherhood²: Guest Post – Let’s talk about sex

Posted on January 8, 2012March 3, 2018 by Henry Elliss

I still remember the first time my father discussed the subject of sex with me. I was fourteen years old and it was clear that my father had no idea of what I was going through. I had returned home from a summer vacation camp. Together with fifty teenagers I had been locked into a…

Fatherhood²: “…Just call 555-RATE-A-SANTA now!”

Posted on January 1, 2012March 3, 2018 by Henry Elliss

I know the festive season is now drawing to a close, so I should probably save this post for next year, but hey – I’m far too impatient for that. So instead, consider this the germ of an idea that I might well turn in to reality by next Christmas… As is probably traditional in…

Fatherhood²: I Want to Believe, I WANT to Believe…

Posted on December 18, 2011March 3, 2018 by Henry Elliss

I should probably start this post with a disclaimer – a sort of “Spoiler Alert” for those of a sensitive disposition: If you have somehow stumbled upon this blog post and you are under the age of 10, please don’t read any further. It’s for your own good, trust me. (You might laugh, but I…

Fatherhood²: It’s Political Correctness Gone MAD!

Fatherhood²: 10 Presents Your Husband, Brother or Dad will LOVE this Christmas

Posted on December 8, 2011March 3, 2018 by Henry Elliss

As a father who often struggles with buying presents for people, I’m a big fan of the concept of wishlists – my Amazon one has served me very well over the years, and our wedding wishlist produced presents we’re still using now. But what do you do if you need to buy for somebody who…

As today is ‘Back British Farming’ day, I want As today is ‘Back British Farming’ day, I wanted to give a shout-out to all the farmers in the local area, especially Brimpton’s own @mbowden1954. One of my favourite aspects of living where we do now is being surrounded by countryside and farm land - and being able to see an actively-farmed field at the end of our garden. Every time something’s being done to the field I’m out with my camera, usually trying to figure out the names of all the machinery - and it’s so nice to see a product being grown right from seed to harvest. I know it’s not easy for farmers at the moment, and I dearly hope ours are able to keep farming for many years to come - so if you have one near you, make sure to show them all the support you can!
