My Year in Photos – December 18th – "Look what I made, Daddy!", originally uploaded by henweb. With an IMMENSE downfall of snow in Reading today, Robert and I were both very excited to get out in to the garden to test out the snowballability – and I’m pleased to report, it was GOOD! As…

My Year in Photos – December 17th – “Snow hits London”

Posted on December 18, 2010February 24, 2011 by Henry Elliss

My Year in Photos – December 17th – "Show hits London", originally uploaded by henweb. This afternoon London (and Reading) finally got it’s fair share of snow – something we seem to have amazingly missed out on in the past few weeks, unlike most of the country. It came in thick and fast, settling straight…

My Year in Photos – December 16th – “It’s like Picadilly Circus!”

My Year in Photos – December 16th – "It’s like Picadilly Circus!", originally uploaded by henweb. This evening was the night of the Tamar Christmas party, which I decided to drive to (and from) to avoid the risk of getting snowed-in after the party. It actually worked out very nicely on the way home –…

My Year in Photos – December 15th – "Frozen lochs", originally uploaded by henweb. I spent today flying to and from Glasgow, visiting a possible future client. Flying up and back was fairly easy to be fair, and I got to fly over some beautiful frozen scenery – including several frozen lakes, locks and rivers….

My Year in Photos – December 14th – "Noah’s Ark in London", originally uploaded by henweb. I was over in Canada Water today attending a meeting – or the middle of bloody nowhere, as it would probably be more accurate to describe it. Upon emerging from Canada Water underground station, I was confronted with this…

My Year in Photos – December 13th – "No 70s dudes allowed", originally uploaded by henweb. The guy in this “Do not enter” stance has an awfully unique way of walking… no wonder he’s been banned! Unless of course the sign is telling you not to enter the jaunty dude, in which case it takes…

My Year in Photos – December 12th – "Ikea fear", originally uploaded by henweb. As we were up nice and early, we opted to take a trip to Ikea in Wembley today, to do a little bit of furniture-based Christmas shopping. Considering it’s so close to Christmas, I was surprised by how pleasant-an experience it…

My Year in Photos – December 11th – "Look! A Polar Bear!", originally uploaded by henweb. Today’s photo was taken at a garden centre near Reading called ‘Dobby’s’. I don’t know what they’re like where you live, but all the garden centres we’ve been to the last few Christmas have had these impressive animatronic displays,…

As today is ‘Back British Farming’ day, I want As today is ‘Back British Farming’ day, I wanted to give a shout-out to all the farmers in the local area, especially Brimpton’s own @mbowden1954. One of my favourite aspects of living where we do now is being surrounded by countryside and farm land - and being able to see an actively-farmed field at the end of our garden. Every time something’s being done to the field I’m out with my camera, usually trying to figure out the names of all the machinery - and it’s so nice to see a product being grown right from seed to harvest. I know it’s not easy for farmers at the moment, and I dearly hope ours are able to keep farming for many years to come - so if you have one near you, make sure to show them all the support you can!
