Fatherhood: Family Days Out – How to do Legoland UK, without breaking the bank

Posted on June 4, 2018April 16, 2019 by Henry Elliss

Despite having been to Legoland Windsor at least a dozen times, I’ve never written about it on the blog before – apart from a short review of a trip we made their at Christmas one year. This hasn’t been intentional – we love visiting Legoland, hence so many return trips! So with our next trip…

Fatherhood: Family Days Out – A Day out on the Thames in London

Posted on August 29, 2016June 4, 2018 by Henry Elliss

With the chaos of 2016 showing no signs of calming down, and a new house to save for, we opted for another ‘staycation’ this year. With Sara and the boys off for their usual 6 week school holiday, I was lucky enough to be able to take a week away from the office and spend…

Fatherhood²: Family Days Out – The Natural History Museum

Posted on August 29, 2014June 4, 2018 by Henry Elliss

With just a few days left of the summer holidays, I’m probably far too late to be of any use with this review – but hey, when has irrelevance ever stopped me writing a blog post? Last weekend (after our trip to the View from the Shard) we headed over to the Natural History Museum…

Fatherhood²: Family Days Out – The Shard

Posted on August 23, 2014June 4, 2018 by Henry Elliss

As I’ve reviewed a few family days-out now (all at my own behest, I hasten to add – though if anybody wants to send us anywhere nice, just shout!) I decided I might as well make a bit of a feature of it and review some of the other days out that we have as…

Fatherhood²: Lego Pops-Up at Westfield London

Posted on July 31, 2014January 7, 2018 by Henry Elliss

Back in May, a nice lady from an agency invited me along to Westfield shopping centre in London, to review what it was like for a dad (Fatherhood²: Review – Westfield Isn’t Just for Clothes Shopping). When said nice lady discovered that I spent the gift card she gave me in the Lego shop (well…

Fatherhood²: Review – Westfield Isn’t Just for Clothes Shopping

Posted on May 22, 2014January 7, 2018 by Henry Elliss

As most of you will have gathered by now, I’m not very good at doing reviews. Don’t get me wrong, I quite enjoy doing reviews – especially when they’re more than just objects. And for some strange reason, people keep asking me to review stuff – so I merrily carry on. This latest assignment was…

Fatherhood²: Let’s All go to the Toy Fair! or ‘Another Illusion Shattered!’

Posted on January 22, 2014January 7, 2018 by Henry Elliss

Today, one of my long-held childhood dreams proved to be a crashing disappointment. Let me explain… Ever since I was a child, I’ve harboured dreams of attending a “Toy Show”. I remember watching a report on BBC Newsround from one of these shows, over twenty years ago, and thinking to myself “God, I bet it’s…

My Year in Photos – February 8th – “Just Trust Me…”

My Year in Photos – February 8th – "Just Trust Me…", originally uploaded by henweb. I had a lovely afternoon today, visiting one of our ace clients – the Princes Trust. As well as having brilliant offices overlooking Regents Park (though to be honest, the park doesn’t look too impressive in this weather!) they’re a…

My Year in Photos – February 5th – “To Hammersmith, and step on it!”

Posted on February 5, 2010November 26, 2010 by Henry Elliss

My Year in Photos – February 5th – "To Hammersmith, and step on it!", originally uploaded by henweb. These are the offices of the potential clients we went to meet with today, in glamorous Hammersmith. I *think* I’ve chosen a shot where you can’t see there otherwise-extensive branding (there’s no way I could have used…

My Year in Photos – January 19th – “MI5, not 9-to-5”

Posted on January 19, 2010November 26, 2010 by Henry Elliss

My Year in Photos – January 19th, originally uploaded by henweb. My afternoon today involved a visit to the IAB HQ in Holborn, for the monthly Social Media Council meeting. As I arrived 10 minutes early, I got to take a trip to one of my favourite London sites, which is just down the road…

As today is ‘Back British Farming’ day, I want As today is ‘Back British Farming’ day, I wanted to give a shout-out to all the farmers in the local area, especially Brimpton’s own @mbowden1954. One of my favourite aspects of living where we do now is being surrounded by countryside and farm land - and being able to see an actively-farmed field at the end of our garden. Every time something’s being done to the field I’m out with my camera, usually trying to figure out the names of all the machinery - and it’s so nice to see a product being grown right from seed to harvest. I know it’s not easy for farmers at the moment, and I dearly hope ours are able to keep farming for many years to come - so if you have one near you, make sure to show them all the support you can!
