My Year in Photos – September 21st – "Walking in SouthWARK", originally uploaded by henweb. I spent today in London, south of the Thames – or Southwark to be precise. My Year in Photos – September 20th – "Strange paths to travel", originally uploaded by henweb. I’m afraid today was another of those photo-lite days, when you get to about 5.30 and realise you’ve seen absolutely nothing worthy of a photo all day. So as usual I ended up taking a photo of something I…

My Year in Photos – September 19th – "Berry, berry cool", originally uploaded by henweb. Since we’d not been out much this weekend, we spent Sunday afternoon walking in the grounds around Basildon Park – a National Trust property near us that has recently opened again after some improvements. Seeing as Robert is only two,…

Posted on September 21, 2010November 26, 2010 by flickr

My Year in Photos – September 18th – "A kiss for Buzz", originally uploaded by henweb. On a trip to Reading’s new ‘home and garden superstore’, Range today, Robert found himself a Buzz Lightyear toy. Thankfully, we didn’t mind buying it too much – unlike most of the Toy Story 3 merchandise he’s found so…

My Year in Photos – September 17th – "The sun sets on summer 2010", originally uploaded by henweb. Just under a week away to the Autumnal equinox – September 23rd, if Wikipedia is to be believed – today seemed to mark the end of summer. The forecast for the night was down to single figures,…

My Year in Photos – September 16th – “I think it’s another sign”

Posted on September 18, 2010November 26, 2010 by flickr

My Year in Photos – September 16th – "I think it’s another sign", originally uploaded by henweb. I spotted this sign while walking down Chiswick High Road – I couldn’t help but wonder how many unsuspecting tourists had been unwittingly deceived by it, seemingly pointing to one of the most famous streets in London. They…

My Year in Photos – September 15th – “Dramatic sky”

Posted on September 15, 2010November 26, 2010 by flickr

My Year in Photos – September 15th – "Dramatic sky", originally uploaded by henweb. I actually took quite a few photos today, but to stave-off any accusations of this blog simply being a collection of photos of my son, I’ve opted for a dramatic sky-based shot I took when I got home this evening. Happy…

My Year in Photos – September 14th – “Ready for the floods!”

Posted on September 14, 2010November 26, 2010 by flickr

My Year in Photos – September 14th – "Ready for the floods!", originally uploaded by henweb. Today’s photo was taken very near to our offices – it’s something I’ve often marvelled at, since it seems like such a strange sight. Unless I’m much mistaken, somebody is preparing this parking space for a future when London…

My Year in Photos – September 13th – “The leaves on the trees…”

Posted on September 13, 2010November 26, 2010 by flickr

My Year in Photos – September 13th – "The leaves on the trees…", originally uploaded by henweb. Walking home from the office today, I suddenly realised quite how autumnal it had become in the past couple of weeks. Despite the fact that, as I’ve said before, I much prefer the cold seasons to the hot…

My Year in Photos – September 12th – "That tree is wonky", originally uploaded by henweb. Walking in to town today (to do some shopping, obviously) we passed this VERY wonky tree. I don’t have much more to say about that, though!

As today is ‘Back British Farming’ day, I want As today is ‘Back British Farming’ day, I wanted to give a shout-out to all the farmers in the local area, especially Brimpton’s own @mbowden1954. One of my favourite aspects of living where we do now is being surrounded by countryside and farm land - and being able to see an actively-farmed field at the end of our garden. Every time something’s being done to the field I’m out with my camera, usually trying to figure out the names of all the machinery - and it’s so nice to see a product being grown right from seed to harvest. I know it’s not easy for farmers at the moment, and I dearly hope ours are able to keep farming for many years to come - so if you have one near you, make sure to show them all the support you can!
