As it’s Mother’s Day this weekend, I spent my lunch hour today looking round some of the nicer shops in Chiswick – with a mother of my own and a wife who is now a mother to buy for, I needed a bit of retail inspiration – not something Chiswick usually provides! One of the lovely shops I found included this lovely blue elephant in the window, which is a slightly bigger version of Robert’s second favourite teddy. I was tempted to go in and buy one for myself, he’s so damned soft and cuddly. Thankfully for my maturity levels, the shop was closed – and in the sort of quaint fashion you don’t generally see in most shops these days… A little sign in the window saying “Popped out – back in 5 minutes”!
I only got one of the mother’s day presents sorted by the way, but Chiswick has a few other fancy streets like this for me to explore in the next few days, so I’m sure I’ll find something!
