My Year in Photos – October 12th – "Reflecting on Chiswick", originally uploaded by henweb. Today’s photo was taken as I wandered down Chiswick high road, and is of the snazzy sign outside our local Waitrose. It’s not very interesting I’ll happily admit, but it made me want to take a photo…

Posted on October 13, 2010 by Henry Elliss

I know this is an old one, but I thought it deserved another outing… The Daily Mail song, by the excellent Dan And Dan. “Royals on the first page, Swine flu and road rage, find Maddie, foreign baddie, put him in a big cage…”

My Year in Photos – October 11th – “Leaf it out”

Posted on October 12, 2010February 18, 2014 by flickr

My Year in Photos – October 11th – "Leaf it out", originally uploaded by henweb. Well, it looks like Autumn is definitely here – infact, the amount of decomposing leaves on the ground almost makes it look like it’s been and gone! Still, it makes walking around more fun – I’ve been kicking-up leaves like…

Funny Video of the Day – Smell Like a Monster

Posted on October 12, 2010 by Henry Elliss

Okay, so it might be seen as a bit of a lazy post topic, but I’ve decided I should share a few of my favourite funny YouTube videos here on the blog. I hope they’ll brighten your day as much as they have mine. “Smell Like a Monster” was posted by the official Sesame Street…

My Year in Photos – October 10th – "Let’s stick together", originally uploaded by henweb. Today’s photo is of two people who are relatively new to the world of sticker collections – my two year old son Robert, and my … older wife, Sara. Robert you can probably understand, but Sara is also new to…

My Year in Photos – October 9th – "The big boy bed", originally uploaded by henweb. Well, after almost two and a half years, the day has finally come that Robert has moved in to a proper bed – the cot is history. We’d actually been given a bed by some friends a few months…

My Year in Photos – October 8th – “Kneel before ZOLTAN!”

Posted on October 10, 2010February 18, 2014 by flickr

My Year in Photos – October 8th – "Kneel before ZOLTAN!", originally uploaded by henweb. I know it’s a bit childish to be amused by a *name*, especially when the person in question was on the news to talk about the growing Danube disaster in Hungary. But I couldn’t stop myself from chuckling at the…

As today is ‘Back British Farming’ day, I want As today is ‘Back British Farming’ day, I wanted to give a shout-out to all the farmers in the local area, especially Brimpton’s own @mbowden1954. One of my favourite aspects of living where we do now is being surrounded by countryside and farm land - and being able to see an actively-farmed field at the end of our garden. Every time something’s being done to the field I’m out with my camera, usually trying to figure out the names of all the machinery - and it’s so nice to see a product being grown right from seed to harvest. I know it’s not easy for farmers at the moment, and I dearly hope ours are able to keep farming for many years to come - so if you have one near you, make sure to show them all the support you can!
