Funny Video of the Day – Songs of Praise (with subtitles)

Posted on October 14, 2010 by Henry Elliss

Funny Video of the Day – The Daily Mail Song

Posted on October 13, 2010 by Henry Elliss

I know this is an old one, but I thought it deserved another outing… The Daily Mail song, by the excellent Dan And Dan. “Royals on the first page, Swine flu and road rage, find Maddie, foreign baddie, put him in a big cage…”

Funny Video of the Day – Smell Like a Monster

Posted on October 12, 2010 by Henry Elliss

Okay, so it might be seen as a bit of a lazy post topic, but I’ve decided I should share a few of my favourite funny YouTube videos here on the blog. I hope they’ll brighten your day as much as they have mine. “Smell Like a Monster” was posted by the official Sesame Street…

My Year in Photos – August 28th to September 5th

Posted on September 5, 2010November 26, 2010 by Henry Elliss

Since I wasn’t able to upload these photos on a daily basis during our holiday, I’m taking a break from the norm and lumping them together in to one big post. I might come back in and add some descriptions for each one tomorrow, but at the moment I’m quite tired and it’s school in…

My 12 best celebrity sightings [Photos]

Posted on August 12, 2010August 12, 2010 by Henry Elliss

Despite being the sort of person that gets a little bit excited about seeing celebrities, I’m usually far too slow to get my camera out of my pocket and snap a picture. Chiswick, where I work, is a virtual mecca for celebrities – recent sightings include Ant and Dec, Kirsty Gallagher, Richard Herring, Clare Balding,…

My Year in Photos – August 4th – “How do I hate thee? Let me count the ways…”

My Year in Photos – August 4th – "How do I hate thee? Let me count the ways…", originally uploaded by henweb. Let me start this rant with a disclaimer. Whilst I now choose to drive to work each day (along the slow-moving car park that is the M4) I spent a good (?) 6…

My Year in Photos – August 2nd – “Anally retentive doodles”

Posted on August 2, 2010August 25, 2010 by Henry Elliss

My Year in Photos – August 2nd – "Anally retentive doodles", originally uploaded by henweb. Today I was involved in (but not crucially enough that it stopped me from doodling) a VERY long meeting. A meeting which was mainly around planning for another meeting, in fact. It was important and everything, though I couldn’t stop…

My Year in Photos – August 1st – “Alpaca spotting”

Posted on August 2, 2010August 25, 2010 by Henry Elliss

My Year in Photos – August 1st – "Alpaca spotting", originally uploaded by henweb. In the field behind the cottage where my parents live, deep in the wilds of Somerset, there are Alpacas. Three of them in fact, coexisting quite happily with some chickens and the occasional sheep. Very odd. But they are very friendly…

My top blogging tips – in video form!

Posted on July 23, 2010August 25, 2010 by Henry Elliss

I recently did a small piece-to-camera (can you still call it that when I wasn’t actually looking at the camera? Hmm) for the IAB, as part of a series of videos they are doing with various Social Media council members. I chose to talk about blogging, and if you’d like to see what I said…

As today is ‘Back British Farming’ day, I want As today is ‘Back British Farming’ day, I wanted to give a shout-out to all the farmers in the local area, especially Brimpton’s own @mbowden1954. One of my favourite aspects of living where we do now is being surrounded by countryside and farm land - and being able to see an actively-farmed field at the end of our garden. Every time something’s being done to the field I’m out with my camera, usually trying to figure out the names of all the machinery - and it’s so nice to see a product being grown right from seed to harvest. I know it’s not easy for farmers at the moment, and I dearly hope ours are able to keep farming for many years to come - so if you have one near you, make sure to show them all the support you can!
