My Year in Photos – July 30th – "Doctor Who and sons", originally uploaded by henweb. Today’s picture is a common sight in Chiswick these days. For the past couple of years, a few basement-renovation companies have been working their way down the street in Chiswick next to my work – usually a few months…

My Year in Photos – July 28th – “This is not a building”

Posted on July 28, 2010August 25, 2010 by flickr

My Year in Photos – July 28th – "This is not a building", originally uploaded by henweb. My Magritte-inspired photo title today stems from the fact that after I took this photo, my colleague Neil was told by one of the security guards that taking photos of or inside the building was prohibited. Something that…

My Year in Photos – July 27th – “Sign making for/by dummies”

Posted on July 27, 2010August 25, 2010 by flickr

My Year in Photos – July 27th – "Sign making for/by dummies", originally uploaded by henweb. These two frankly-massive signs went up in our building today, to signpost the new toilets in the downstairs corridor. Aside from the stupid size of them, I have absolutely no idea what the “T” in the top sign could…

My Year in Photos – July 26th – "Drive, or the duck gets it!", originally uploaded by henweb. Today’s photo depicts a character I got to know very well this morning, spending as I did around 2 hour staring at the ugly bastard. This Toyota van was the ‘car in front’ for most of my…

My Year in Photos – July 25th – "Rob and Henry in da house’", originally uploaded by henweb. My choice of photo today was between a shot of the DIY bannister work I spent most of the morning doing, or a photo from the toddler’s birthday party we all spent the afternoon at. Seeing as…

My Year in Photos – July 24th – "The Dude abides", originally uploaded by henweb. Today’s photo was taken as we were walking in to town to do some shopping. Robert is very fond of these sunglasses, and I think they make him look like quite the mini-Dude. He even has his nappy sticking up…

My top blogging tips – in video form!

Posted on July 23, 2010August 25, 2010 by Henry Elliss

I recently did a small piece-to-camera (can you still call it that when I wasn’t actually looking at the camera? Hmm) for the IAB, as part of a series of videos they are doing with various Social Media council members. I chose to talk about blogging, and if you’d like to see what I said…

My Year in Photos – July 23rd – "This is not a brothel", originally uploaded by henweb. As I was wandering the corridors of the Barley Mow centre (the building where Tamar are based) this morning, I stumbled upon a corridor I hadn’t been down before. With a building of it’s size that’s not really…

As today is ‘Back British Farming’ day, I want As today is ‘Back British Farming’ day, I wanted to give a shout-out to all the farmers in the local area, especially Brimpton’s own @mbowden1954. One of my favourite aspects of living where we do now is being surrounded by countryside and farm land - and being able to see an actively-farmed field at the end of our garden. Every time something’s being done to the field I’m out with my camera, usually trying to figure out the names of all the machinery - and it’s so nice to see a product being grown right from seed to harvest. I know it’s not easy for farmers at the moment, and I dearly hope ours are able to keep farming for many years to come - so if you have one near you, make sure to show them all the support you can!
