Bugs and Slugs and Toads, Oh My!

Posted on October 6, 2017March 20, 2018 by Henry Elliss

Last weekend we were up in Hereford, spending my birthday weekend with our extended family. It’s almost an annual tradition in our house, and one of my favourite weekends of the year – and not just because of the obvious birthday timing! My cousin and his wife live deep in the Hereford countryside, in a…

Review – YourDesign custom merchandise

Posted on September 15, 2017March 20, 2018 by Henry Elliss

Over the past year, I’ve become a huge fan of a particular item of clothing: namely, the obscure reference t-shirt. You might not know an obscure reference when you see it – that is, after all, kinda the point – but I’m sure you’ve seen a few in the wild. I have a number in…

Review – Disney Store & Cars 3

Posted on July 23, 2017March 20, 2018 by Henry Elliss

I don’t know about your house, but the Cars films have been an entertainment staple in ours for the past 5 or 6 years now. We saw both of the first two films at the cinema (the second being Freddie’s first ever trip to the cinema) and we’ve got more Cars toys than you can…

Fatherhood: Review – Saltrock Clothing

Posted on July 3, 2017January 6, 2018 by Henry Elliss

I don’t often get asked to review clothing here on the blog, and when I do it’s rarely clothing that I’d actually choose myself. So when the folks at Saltrock asked if We wanted to test out some of their children’s range, I decided I should put away my presumptions and give them a shot….

Fatherhood: Review – A glowing review of Glowsticks.co.uk (plus discount code!)

Posted on June 25, 2017January 6, 2018 by Henry Elliss

I recently got in touch with the folk over at Glowsticks.co.uk with the cheeky request of a discount code to offer on the site. After all, I’ve been a customer of their site for years and years, and I thought it was about time I shared my love of Glowsticks with the world. Luckily for…

Fatherhood: Review – Case Hut Smartphone Cases (and competition!)

Posted on June 5, 2017January 6, 2018 by Henry Elliss

I don’t know about you, but barely a day goes by where I don’t see somebody tapping away on their smartphone with a horrendously smashed-up screen. I don’t know what it is that’s causing everyone to drop their phones so hard that they smash the screen, but people seem to do it far more often…

Fatherhood: Review – Handmade Burger Co

Posted on May 27, 2017January 6, 2018 by Henry Elliss

The lovely people at the Handmade Burger Co recently got in touch, asking if we wanted to give their new kids menu a try. It probably doesn’t take a genius to work out what I told them in response – not least of all because you’re about to read my review. So, on a sunny…

Fatherhood: A Lego Mini(figure) Adventure

Posted on May 7, 2017January 6, 2018 by Henry Elliss

As most people who read this blog will probably be painfully aware, I’m a bit of a Lego fan. Actually, that’s probably an understatement – I’m a huge, geeky Lego fan – and thankfully my children like it quite a bit too. We have boxes and boxes of the stuff (all sorted by colour, obviously…

Fatherhood: Review – Lego Guardians of the Galaxy 2: The Milano vs. The Abilisk (76081)

Posted on March 19, 2017January 6, 2018 by Henry Elliss

Well, after an epic few sessions of Lego building, where we reviewed the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 Lego sets “Ravager Attack” and “Ayesha’s Revenge“, we finally come to the grand finale – the biggest set of the bunch. In case you aren’t familiar with the Guardians of the Galaxy films, the “Milano” is…

As today is ‘Back British Farming’ day, I want As today is ‘Back British Farming’ day, I wanted to give a shout-out to all the farmers in the local area, especially Brimpton’s own @mbowden1954. One of my favourite aspects of living where we do now is being surrounded by countryside and farm land - and being able to see an actively-farmed field at the end of our garden. Every time something’s being done to the field I’m out with my camera, usually trying to figure out the names of all the machinery - and it’s so nice to see a product being grown right from seed to harvest. I know it’s not easy for farmers at the moment, and I dearly hope ours are able to keep farming for many years to come - so if you have one near you, make sure to show them all the support you can!
