Fatherhood: Review – Goodyear Making a Generation of Safer Drivers with VR

Posted on June 21, 2016January 6, 2018 by Henry Elliss

Now as you will probably have figured out by now, neither of my children are driving age yet – something I’m certainly thankful of, given their general craziness! But when they do get a little bit older and start wanting to learn to drive, you can bet your bottom dollar I’ll be a nervous wreck….

Fatherhood: Review – QuidCo’s High Street Happy

Posted on May 4, 2016June 4, 2018 by Henry Elliss

The lovely people at Money-saving site QuidCo are conducting some interesting research relating to why we love our local high street. If you (like me) thought QuidCo was an “online only” thing, you might be surprised to find out that QuidCo deals can also be done in regular, high street shops! As part of the…

Fatherhood: Review – MARVELous CROSS pens

Posted on April 22, 2016January 7, 2018 by Henry Elliss

As a blogger, most of my writing tends to be via a keyboard (or occassionally a touch-screen, if I’m bored on the train) – I very rarely get any time to do much handwriting these days. So, when I DO get the urge to write freehand, I like to make sure I’ve got a SUPER…

Fatherhood: Review – Tree and the Rock

Posted on March 24, 2016January 7, 2018 by Henry Elliss

Sometimes when we discover cool new things, our first instinct can be to keep them to ourselves. We’ve all done it – “I liked them before they became big”. Whether it’s because we want them a secret so “fame” doesn’t change them, or because we want to feel like an OG fan, the temptation is…

Fatherhood: Review – The Peugeot 308

Posted on January 31, 2016January 7, 2018 by Henry Elliss

Yes, you read that right. I got asked to review a car…! It’s not often that I feel compelled to start a blog post – much less a review – with an apology. But having been asked to test and review a CAR, it feels right to apologise. You see, I know bee little about…

Fatherhood: Review – My First Scalextric

Posted on December 19, 2015January 7, 2018 by Henry Elliss

As most of you will know by now, I very rarely turn down the opportunity to review a new toy – it’s basically one of the main reasons I started blogging in the first place, let’s be honest. So when the nice people at Hornby asked if we’d like to give their new ‘My First…

Fatherhood: Bergen, Norway – a Family-friendly Holiday full of Unexpected Delights

Posted on November 1, 2015June 4, 2018 by Henry Elliss

A couple of months ago, Sara and I decided it was about time we booked a family holiday – something we’ve not done in over a year, and which was now well overdue. Sure, we’ve done plenty of fun camping trips – and a memorable camping expedition to France last year – but we’ve not…

Fatherhood: Review – MiHome Energenie Sockets

Posted on October 20, 2015January 7, 2018 by Henry Elliss

When the nice man from MiHome got in touch with me, promising some exciting new innovations in plug-socket technology, I was hesitant. Whilst our home is chock-full of electrical items, I was pretty sure that if you’ve seen one plug, you’ve seen them all. Okay, so maybe I’m exaggerating for effect here – he actually…

Fatherhood: Review – Hot Wheels Super Speed Blastway

Posted on June 6, 2015January 7, 2018 by Henry Elliss

My kids are already big fans of Hot Wheels, so when the folks at Mattel asked if they could send us their newest track-set to test out – along with a t-shirt from the new Hot Wheels collection – my boys jumped at the chance! The ‘Super Speed Blastway’ (I don’t know who comes up…

Dear Hollywood – stop treating bloggers like idiots

Posted on June 4, 2015January 7, 2018 by Henry Elliss

As you’ve probably guessed from the title, I’m about to have a rant. And not just a “Henry woke up on the wrong side of the bed” type of rant – this is one of those rants that is likely to get me blacklisted by just about every entertainment brand out there, forever highlighted in…

As today is ‘Back British Farming’ day, I want As today is ‘Back British Farming’ day, I wanted to give a shout-out to all the farmers in the local area, especially Brimpton’s own @mbowden1954. One of my favourite aspects of living where we do now is being surrounded by countryside and farm land - and being able to see an actively-farmed field at the end of our garden. Every time something’s being done to the field I’m out with my camera, usually trying to figure out the names of all the machinery - and it’s so nice to see a product being grown right from seed to harvest. I know it’s not easy for farmers at the moment, and I dearly hope ours are able to keep farming for many years to come - so if you have one near you, make sure to show them all the support you can!
