It was a pretty impressive place (though the ticket price would be my only…

The Plastic Joy Awards – My Top 5

Posted on April 3, 2010June 4, 2018 by Henry Elliss

I’m not usually one for filling in online ‘lists’ – you know the ones I mean: “Here’s 40 random questions, answer them then get all your friends to answer them, but don’t actually bother to read anybody’s responses”. They were the bain of e-mail, and now they’ve become the bain of Facebook notes. But I’m…

My Year in Photos – April 2nd – "The man in the mirror", originally uploaded by henweb. The first day of my 10-day holiday started with a bit of a quandary – namely, what to do! As my wife will tell you, I very rarely make plans the night before (as would be sensible), instead…

My Year in Photos – April 1st – “I pity the fool”

My Year in Photos – April 1st – "I pity the fool", originally uploaded by henweb. As today was April Fools day, I had planned to make my photograph somehow themed around that. Unfortunately, the majority of fool gags I saw were online or on the radio, which I figured would make for a pretty…

My Year in Photos – March 30th – "Toys, toys, everywhere!", originally uploaded by henweb. I had another afternoon off work today, so Robert and I headed to Reading’s Toys’R’Us to browse their wares. Robert took a bit of a tumble down the stairs at home this morning (I don’t think he’ll be walking down…

As today is ‘Back British Farming’ day, I want As today is ‘Back British Farming’ day, I wanted to give a shout-out to all the farmers in the local area, especially Brimpton’s own @mbowden1954. One of my favourite aspects of living where we do now is being surrounded by countryside and farm land - and being able to see an actively-farmed field at the end of our garden. Every time something’s being done to the field I’m out with my camera, usually trying to figure out the names of all the machinery - and it’s so nice to see a product being grown right from seed to harvest. I know it’s not easy for farmers at the moment, and I dearly hope ours are able to keep farming for many years to come - so if you have one near you, make sure to show them all the support you can!
